How many sessions will I need?

I offer short, medium and long term counselling to adults and young people over 18.  

We will review our work together on a regular basis and discuss how many sessions you feel you will need.  Sessions are usually held weekly and on the same day.  As you progress your therapy we will talk about reducing our sessions to fortnightly and then reduce further again with a view to stopping.  You will probably know when you are ready to bring our sessions to an end.

How much will it cost?

The fee for each 50 minute counselling session is £50.00.  Sessions are held weekly at the same time and day.  Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer on the day of your appointment.  I can offer concessions for those on a reduced income.

Where are you based?

I am based in the BH9 area of Bournemouth and work from a log cabin within my garden.  Parking is available and the location is within easy reach of surrounding areas. I also offer counselling sessions over Zoom or telephone and home visits to those who are home bound.    

Professional Body

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to the BACP Professional Standards and Ethical Framework. A copy can of this can be found at www.bacp.co.uk  

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is maintained within the boundaries of UK Law, unless you mention that you may cause serious harm to yourself or someone else, or if a child is at risk

Data Protection

I adhere to both the requirements set by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and the Data Protection Act of 2018

Clinical Supervision

All therapists are required to have clinical supervision and in line with BACP requirements and to ensure best clinical practice I attend regular clinical supervision, however your anonymity and right to confidentiality will be maintained. 

Cancellation

From time to time, you may need to change the time or day of your appointment and when ever possible I will try to be flexible, however for sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice the full fee will be due.

Payment

The fee is due on the day of the session either by bank transfer or by cash. If paying by bank transfer, payment is due before the start of the session please.
